After trading rangebound for the most part of the day, the markets lost significantly in the last one hour of the trade and both benchmark indices closed with declines of around 1.2%. Metal was the biggest loser in todayÿs session while realty was the lone sector to close in the green. The Sensex closed at 18833 (provisional), down 246 points from its previous close, and the Nifty closed at 5653 (provisional), down 76 points. The CNX Midcap index was down 0.8% and the BSE Smallcapindex lost 0.9%. The market breadth was negative with advances at 396 against declines of 915 on the NSE.
