 The markets registered strong upward movement today with all sectoral indices closing in the green. The most remarkable aspect of todayÿs trade was that both benchmark indices closed above their psychologically important levels of 19,000 and 5,700, respectively. Capital goods, realty and FMCG were the biggest gainers of todayÿs sesion. The Sensex closed at 19079 (provisional), up 352 points from its previous close, and the Nifty closed at 5728 (provisional), up 102 points. The CNX Midcap index was up 1.2% and the BSE Smallcap index gained 1%. The market breadth was positive with advances at 906 against declines of 393 on the NSE.
