20th July Closing Market Updates
The markets didn't perform well today and barring FMCG, all sectors closed negative. The Sensex closed at 18482 (provisional), down 172 points from its previous close, and the Nifty closed at 5562 (provisional), down 51 points. The CNX Midcap index was down 1.4% and the BSE Smallcap index lost 0.4%. The market breadth was negative with advances at 418 against declines of 883 on the NSE
