13th July Closing Market Updates 3.40

The markets registered strong upward movement today and barring IT, all sectoral indices closed in the green. Auto, realty, consumer durables and oil & gas were the best performing sectors today and with RIL being among the lead gainers. ADAG stocks also performed well today. The Sensex closed at 18617 (provisional), up 205 points from its previous close, and the Nifty closed at 5592 (provisional), up 66 points. The CNX Midcap index was up 1.3% and the BSE Small cap index gained 1%. The market breadth was positive with advances at 959 against declines of 340 on the NSE. 


In Nifty50 stocks, DLF was the top gainer by 3.78% and ended at 229 whereas TATAPOWER was the top loser by 0.94% and ended at 1289.15.
