US Markets:
In the US markets, stocks started off on a positive note and strengthened throughout much of the session, but gave off gains in the final hour of trading. The selloff prevented the Dow from closing at a 2-year high after it was trading above its November 5 close within the final 10 minutes of the session.

Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.16% or 18.24 points at 11428.56. Nasdaq Composite was down 0.48% or 12.63 points at 2624.91. Standard & Poor's 500 was flat at 1240.46.
In key data to watch out for today, the US producer price index for November is expected to come at 0.7%. The October data came at 0.4%. November retail sales are also expected today. Consensus figures indicate 0.7%, lower than the October figures of 1.2%.

The FOMC policy announcement is also on our radar today. Fed fund rates may be kept unchanged.
In currencies the dollar fell broadly as US deficit concerns returned to the forefront as Moody's said that after the tax-cut deal could shift its outlook on the United States' top credit rating.
In commodities- oil prices rose lifted by strong Chinese economic data before prices faced resistance above USD 89 a barrel amid investor concern that China may take more action to cool its inflation.
In base metals copper surges to record levels in London trade and rallied to a 31-month high in New York session on speculation about Chinese demand as china refrained from a rate hike.
