All BSE Sectoral Indices gained today. Realty gained the most 4.09% followed by Metal Index by 2.31% ,Capital Goods Index by 2.20% and Bankex by 2%.
DLF was the top gainer with 8.30% and ended at 246 whereas HCL Tech was the top loser by 1.22% and ended at 492.10.
SBIN was the turnover topper by the traded value and Birlapower was the most traded stock on NSE today.
Advance/Decline Ratio was postive in the ratio of 2.33 : 1 as 959 stocks gained and 411 stocks declined today on NSE.
Food Inflation :
India's food inflation accelerated for the second straight week on rising prices of onions and petrol, putting pressure on headline inflation and reinforcing expectations of more monetary action this year to tame inflationary expectations.
Food inflation accelerated to its higest level since December 25 on high prices of onions and petrol in the week. Onion and petrol prices were up more than 6.5% and 4.5% on the week.
India's food price index rose 17.05% and the fuel price index climbed 11.61% in the year to January 22, government data on Thursday showed. In the prior week, annual food and fuel inflation stood at 15.57% and 10.87%.
