3rd Nov Market Closing:
The Sensex is still holding early gains and continues to trade in a range-bound manner. Metal, auto and banking were leading the sectoral space except oil & gas.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 127.17 points or 0.63% at 20,472.86, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 8.55 points or 0.14%, at 6,127.55.
Sensex Movers
State Bank Of India contributed rise of 26.46 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Housing Development Finance Corporation (21.02 points), I C I C I Bank (20.51 points), Tata Motors (14.7 points) and Sterlite Industries (India) (12.5 points).
However, Reliance Industries contributed fall of 18.81 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Tata Power Company (1.63 points), Jaiprakash Associates (1.48 points), Bharti Airtel (0.95 points) and Reliance Communications (0.89 points).

The Midcap and Smallcap index rose 0.78% and 0.93% respectively.
Sectors in Limelight
The Metal index was at 17,112.67, up by 293.56 points or by 1.75%. The major gainers were Jindal Steel & Power (2.16%), Hindalco Industries (1.23%), Hindustan Zinc (0.44%), National Aluminium Company (0.26%) and JSW Steel (0.04%).
The Auto index was at 10,075.43, up by 123.14 points or by 1.24%. The major gainers were Apollo Tyres (3.97%), Exide Industries (2.14%), Bajaj Auto (1.74%), Amtek Auto (1.37%) and Hero Honda Motors (0.97%).
The Bankex index was at 14,686.60, up by 163.70 points or by 1.13%. The major gainers were I C I C I Bank (1.18%), Canara Bank (0.84%), Bank Of Baroda (0.52%), H D F C Bank (0.33%) and Federal Bank (0.03%).
On the other hand, the Oil & Gas index was at 10,860.34, down by 39.92 points or by 0.37%. The major losers were Bharat Petroleum Corporation (1.25%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (1.04%), Essar Oil (1.03%) and Reliance Industries (0.71%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was positive with 1,738 advances against 1,246 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 1,816.45 million. It was followed by BS TransComm (Rs. 1,589.63 million), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals (Rs. 1,185.80 million) and State Bank Of India (Rs. 923.85 million).
The volume chart was led by Cals Refineries with trades of over 81.70 million shares. It was followed by Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals (12.66 million), Sujana Metal Products (12.23 million) and Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals (10.37 million).
Nifty closed 41.50 points up at 6160.50.
Sensex closed 120.05 points up at 20465.74
