Market opened flat but could not sustained in positive.Nifty ended at 5417.40 with 34.70 points down whereas Sensex ended at 18038.39 with 128.64 points down.
Among BSE Sectoral Indices, FMCG index rose the most by 0.78% while Metal Index was the top loser by 1.42%.
In the Nifty50 stocks, Powergid Corporation gained the most by 3.53% and ended at 105.50 while Suzlon was the top loser ended at 52.40 with 7.17%.
Today's listed stock SKS Micro was the turnover topper in terms of traded value whereas Volatile stocks Cairn India was the turnover topper with highest traded quantity.
Market breadth was negative today as 852 stocks declined and 493 stocks gained on NSE.
