Market cues:
Global markets end flat on low volumes; FOMC meet today

NSE F&O Open Int was up by Rs 5176 crore at Rs 1.5 lakh crore
As per provisional data of August 9, FIIs were net buyers of Rs 522 crore; DIIs were net sellers of Rs 45 crore in cash markets. FIIs were net buyers of Rs 673.7 crore in F&O.
US Markets:
Stocks gained modestly amid light volume as investors hung back to await news from the Federal Reserve meeting today.
Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.42% or 45.19 points at 10698.75. Nasdaq Composite was up 0.75% or 17.22 points at 2305.69. Standard & Poor's 500 was up 0.55% or 6.15 points at 1127.79.
All eyes today will be on the FOMC meeting. The Federal Reserve is expected to keep borrowing rates low and may signal its readiness to print more money to support a faltering economic recovery. Also due today is the wholesale trade data.
In the forex market, the dollar rose against major currencies as investors squared up positions a day ahead of this week's Federal Reserve monetary policy announcement.
In the world of commodities, crude prices rose for the first time in four sessions, edging back above USD 81.
Base metals are also up as China says growth in second half of the year is likely to be strong.
