Nifty opened flat but touched a low of 4739.35 in the morning session but later on started recovering as IT stocks and PSU gained along with positive opening of European markets and touched an intraday high of 4810.40 and closed at 4786.45 after gaining 26 points while Sensex closed at 16029.95 nearly 94 points in positive.
Among sectoral indices,BSE IT was the top gainer with 2.64% followed by PSU and Helthcare.While Realty lost 1.18% since yesterday's close.
Overall market breadth was positive.On NSE, 686 stocks gained and 578 stocks declined today.
Stride Arcolab gained 12.93% and Kinetic Motor was the top loser with 5.65%.
Dow Future was up with 60 points and Europen markets were in green.
