Today market opened positive and traded very flat in first hour.But later on,volatility started.Market touched a new high but profit booking depped the indices into red.Sensex touched 18000 mark 1st time after Mid Feb 2008.Intraday high of Sensex was 18047.80 and low was 17878 before it closed at 17966 ,gaining 24.76 points.Nifty failed to cross a 5400 mark by just 0.35 points.It made a new 52 week as well as 2 years' high of 5399.65 and made a day low of 5345.05.Nifty closed at 5374.60 gaining 8.60 points.
Among the BSE Sectoral indices,Auto Index gained most by 1.16% while Bankex was the main loser which closed 0.42% in negative.
In Nifty50 stocks, Idea was the top gainer with 5.10%,closed at 67 and top loser was PNB which lost 1.98% and closed at 1015.40
Overall market breadth was positive as 1645 stocks gained today and 1328 stocks declined on NSE.
