20th May Market Closing Updates

20th May MarketClosing Updates:
The Sensex came off from day`s highs of 18,381.7 on the back of the government`s decision to raise the subsidy burden share of upstream oil companies like ONGC, OIL and GAIL, dampened sentiment.
The Sensex was up 252.48 points or 1.39% at 18393.88, and the Nifty was up 85.80 points or 1.58% at 5513.90. About 1636 shares advanced, 1119 shares declined, and 886 shares remain unchanged.

Sectors in Limelight
The Capital Goods index was at 13,221.85, up by 324.54 points or by 2.52%. The major gainers were Alstom Projects India (2.21%), A B B (1.01%), Bharat Electronics (0.95%), BEML (0.74%) and BGR Energy Systems (0.43%).
The HC index was at 6,171.00, up by 99.07 points or by 1.63%. The major gainers were Cipla (2.86%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise (1.85%), Biocon (1.26%), Cadila Healthcare (0.73%) and Aurobindo Pharma (0.13%).
The Power index was at 2,579.78, up by 39.35 points or by 1.55%. The major gainers were Crompton Greaves (2.75%), Reliance Infrastructure (2.11%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.08%), A B B (1.01%) and Adani Power (0.45%).
The IPO index was at 1,748.16, down by 5.28 points or by 0.3%. The major losers were Aster Silicates (2.57%), ARSS Infrastructure Projects (2.23%), Aqua Logistics (1.74%), Indiabulls Power (0.73%) and Bedmutha Industries (0.32%).
