Short covering boosted our indices to close its day high as the Nifty June Future contracts were trading in premiums against the previous sessions' discount of nearly 25 points. Nifty closed at 5082.35 with 82.05 points of gain.Sensex closed with 276.12 points gain and closed at 16934.01.
All BSE Sectoral indices closed in green.Auto index gained the most by 3.53%.
Reliance Infra was the top gainer with 5.58% in Nifty50 stocks.It closed at 1128.35 while just 4 stocks among Nifty50 stocks dropped today.Powergrid was the maximum by 0.63% to close at 101.80.
Advance / Decline ratio was positive to nearly 3:1 as 956 stocks gained and 330 stocks declined today on NSE.
