Market opened positive on positive global cues and ended with gains on the eve of the Marathi Nav Varsha.
Broadbased Nifty ended above 5900 mark for the first time after 7th January 2011.
Nifty ended at 5908.15 with 82.10 points' gain and Sensex gained 287.8 points and ended at 19708.19.
All BSE Sectoral Indices ended positive.Capital Goods Index was the top gainer by 2.40% followed by IT,Auto and Bankex.
In Nifty50 stocks, M&M gained the most by 4.90% and ended at 745.9 whereas Rcom was the top loser by 2.42% and ended at 109.
SBIN was the turnover topper by the traded quantity and Unitech was most traded stock by number of quantity traded on NSE today.
Advance/Decline ratio was positive in the ratio of 7.15 : 1 as 1238 stocks gained and 173 stocks declined today in NSE.
