Wall Street ends at 15-month high.
The Dow gained 115.78 points, or 1.1%, to 10,725.43. The Standard & Poor's 500 index added 14.20 points, or 1.3%, to 1,150.23. The Nasdaq composite index rose 32.41 points, or 1.4%, to 2,320.40.

Strength in health care stocks helped markets to move higher across the board today. The Dow gained 116 points, the Nasdaq rose by 32 points and the S&P was higher by 14 points.

Earning season is now in full swing with 60 companies in S&P 500 reporting this week. Citigroup posted a Q4 loss of USD 7.6 billion in line with analyst estimates. The bank took charges related to repaying US 20 billion in TARP funds to the government. Citi stock was up more than 3% today on the news.
Tech giant IBM reported strong Q4 earnings. Its revenues rose 1% to USD 27.2 billion beating analyst estimates. The company also raised its profit target for 2010.
Cadbury has accepted a merger offer from Kraft Foods; the USD 19 billion deal ends 6 months of talks and once completed will create the worlds biggest candy company.
US Homebuilders sentiment fell expectedly this month as concerns over a weak labour market and the large number of foreclosed homes weighed on Homebuilders. The reading of 15 was below estimate of 17.
